WHAT IS A BLEED?
Bleed is simply a color, image or design that runs off the edge of the paper.

WHAT ARE CMYK AND RGB COLORS?
CMYK colors are what most printing presses require to create full color output. RGB colors are used by monitors and TVs and MAY NOT be used in files you send us.

HOW CAN I GET A TRUE, RICH BLACK COLOR?
We recommend these settings for a true, rich black color:  C=80   M=80   Y=70   B=90

HOW DO I SET-UP A FOLDED BROCHURE?
When designing a document to be folded, such as brochures, the most important thing is the setup and positioning of the folds. When dealing with a half fold (also known as double parallel fold) you simply divide a letter size (8.5” x 11”) in half.

However, when preparing a tri-fold or z-fold brochure of the same size, this gets a bit tricky, because it’s not easy to divide an 11 inch sheet into 3 equal parts. To accomplish this, simply change your document guide from inches to PICAS. This will change the 11 inches into 66 picas (this will NOT change the actual document size, just the guide). Now you can easily divide 66 picas into 3 equal parts of 22 picas.

WHAT IS SPOT-UV GLOSS?

A full UV-gloss coating is any piece of paper that has a “varnish” of glossy finish, look and feel to it.

A SPOT-UV GLOSS is any piece of paper that has this varnish or gloss ONLY in certain spots, where you want the gloss to be. It is used to accentuate desired spots on the paper or design.

HOW TO SEND A SPOT-UV ORDER?
All you need to do is send us 2 separate files. One, with the actual design and another which indicates where the UV gloss is to be. This should be called  “spot-UV mask” see image.

HOW TO PREPARE A PLASTIC CARD ORDER?
Make a design, just as you would a regular, paper card. Keeping in mind that clear and frosted plastic cards can only have one printed side. White plastic cards can have front and back printed in full color. Also, all plastic cards come with rounded corners for FREE!

DOES BMS COMBINE ORDERS/SHIPMENTS?
In order to keep our operation and printing costs low and offer our clients the lowest prices possible, we must print multiple jobs/orders from many customers, at the same time. To avoid confusion and mishaps with the many different orders, we must cut, pack, label and ship each order individually as it comes out of our press. So this does not allow the time and labor required for combined shipments of orders.  Our prices are low enough that even when paying our low shipping fees, our pricing is still much lower than the competition!
